Transition Black Isle has been investigating the possibility of setting up a food hub, in part through frustration that the community markets we previously ran are no longer able to continue due to covid. The plans for the hub have stalled due to health problems with the guy who was leading, Crockett Cresswell. Crockett is relatively new to the area, but has previously been heavily involved in food hubs in England, including the Stroud one. He has experience of OFN, Food Assemblies and Neighbourfoods. Amongst his observations about OFN are that it doesn't work well on mobile phones, that their support is a bit patchy, and they struggle to respond quickly to legislative changes. He favours the Neighbourfoods platform, mainly because of their good response to support requests. He also noted that with Neighbourfoods, once a producer has an account, they can sell through any market - which may be an advantage if we anticipate a number of hubs. Crockett would be happy to talk to someone from this group. His details are 07511 536646

Thanks for this Martin, very helpful.
Apologies for the late response, I've been busy the past few days. I'll get in touch with Crockett ASAP.
